So a few days ago, it was announced that Hostess was going out of business. Stock up on your Twinkies as you get ready for the apocalypse. Hostess also made those chocolate cupcakes with the signature loop design. So, to honour the dearly departed Hostesss, I thought I’d post my version of the Hostess cupcakes that I did a few years ago.

Strawberry Banana Chocolate Cupcakes
This experiment came about when a friend challenged me to make a chocolate banana cake that would rival that of Future Bistro. Nilla Praline Cheesecake
So, what’s your go-to cheesecake recipe? This Kraft Canada recipe for a Nilla Prailine Cheesecake is hands-down mine. I’ve made it on several occasions and it’s constantly a head-turner (and tummy rumbler). Get the recipe here!
Desserting in Italy

Minecraft Cake
This Minecraft requires two 8″x8″ square pans, a vanilla cake recipe (or chocolate but I used vanilla), 500 mL heavy cream, 1 package of instant vanilla pudding, 2 batches of marshmallow fondant (one batch tinted light brown, the other white), one batch of buttercream frosting (enough to coat the cake… it’ll be covered in fondant), some red and brown pearl dust and a little bit of vodka for painting. If you have gray petal dust for a little bit of detailing and shading, have at it!
Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
‘Tis the season, my friends! Nope, not Christmas; not yet. It’s pumpkin flavoured stuff season! The recipe is here to the letter (though skip the bit about crumb-coating unless you’re actually making a cake!) I also tend to shave off a couple of minutes if I’m making cupcakes vs. cake as per the recipe. Enjoy!
Salted Caramel Cupcakes
Is there anything more perfect than when sweet and salty have a baby? I mean, I will go on record saying I have had kettle corn for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I digress… SALTED CARAMEL CUPCAKES, YAY!
