My name is Michelle but you call me Mivi (mee-vee), and I love to bake.

I’m self-taught dating way back to baking with my mom and then graduating to my trusty Easy-Bake Oven when I was 8-years-old. Fast forward to a break-up and a KitchenAide Mixer, I dived head first into baking. It started with almost weekly brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and cakes that I would bring in for my co-workers. I eventually started decorating cakes and trying different techniques.

What do I love about baking? It brings people together! I’ve started Sweet Tooth (an annual dessert potluck), and introduced the concept of #BakeChain. I also co-found CupcakeCamp Toronto (2009-2010).

But I’m still learning, of course. Becoming more comfortable working with fondant, I might be able to finally conquer my fear of pies. My dream would be to one day open a bakery, but until then baking remains a hobby.
